Message to our Wellpinit Families & Community

April 22, 2025

Dear Wellpinit School District Families,

It is with profound sadness and a heavy heart that we share the news of the passing of one of our students, Raymond (Trey) Flett III., who passed away this past weekend. Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time, and we extend our deepest condolences to all who are grieving this tragic loss.

We know that this news is deeply painful for our entire school community. Losing a young person is heartbreaking, and it can bring up a range of emotions for students, staff, and families alike. Please know that we are here to support your children as they process this loss.

In the coming days, additional counselors and support staff will be available on campus for any student who needs a safe space to talk or be with a trusted adult. Thank you to the Health and Human Services staff for being on campus to help our students and staff navigate their grief. We encourage you to speak openly and gently with your child and to contact us if you feel your child needs extra support.

We are committed to fostering a compassionate and supportive environment where every student feels seen, valued, and safe. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any concerns or if we can support your family in any way.

We ask for your kindness and sensitivity as we come together to care for one another.

Together, we will navigate this loss with compassion and unity.

With heartfelt sympathy,

John Adkins and the Wellpinit School District
