Updated Start of School Year 2025

August 18, 2025

Dear Students, Staff, Families, and Community Members,

This summer, our Middle School/High School underwent a $6 million HVAC construction project. We are excited about this investment, which will provide consistent heating and cooling to our classrooms, hallways, offices, and gymnasium. These improvements will create a more comfortable and conducive learning environment for our students and will enhance the daily experience for our staff and visitors.

At this time, the project requires just a few more days to be fully completed so that our school year can begin with the building ready to welcome students and staff. For this reason, we have decided to adjust the start of the school year. Instead of beginning on Monday, August 25, the first day of school for grades 1-12 will now be Tuesday, September 2, 2025, and kindergarten will start on Friday, September 5, 2025. Staff will have in-service on August 27 & 28.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we complete this important project. We are excited for the improvements that will benefit our entire school community for years to come, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back into an upgraded and more comfortable facility.

Thank you for your continued support.

Mr. Adkins, Superintendent & the WSD Administrative Team.
